Moffett Vineyards traces its legacy to the Livingston Moffett Winery, which was founded in 1976 in the heart of the Napa Valley by Trent Moffetts’ parents, Diane and John Livingston. For 22 years Trent helped grow the family winery from the cellars to the marketplace. Upon their retirement and sale of the winery in 2005, a generational transition was made by Trent into his successor Moffett Vineyards.

For 9 years his estate winery was located and functioned atop Howell Mountain above the Napa Valley. Here the seed of Trent’s love for the Pinot Noir grape germinated. Trent traces this passion to his early years when one Thanksgiving his father opened a 1982 Mount Eden Pinot Noir from the Santa Cruz Mountains. Some years later he worked on the New Zealand south island with famed winemaker Grant Taylor at Gibbston Valley winery making highly acclaimed Pinot Noir. The seed was ready to grow!

With their new dream of pursuing the ultimate Pinot Noir, Trent and Colleen Moffett with their three small children decided in 2014 to relocate to the northern Willamette Valley. Now with the help of Drew Voit at Harper Voit winery, Trent is making 4 different Pinot Noirs from 3 different Willamette Valley sub-appellations. At the same time, the connection with Napa Valley still plays a major part in Moffett Vineyards production and these wines are usually available at the winery.

In addition to the Moffett Vineyards heritage label with its conspicuous M graphic, Trent and his wife Colleen are co-producers of Screenplay Wines and C&T Cellars, delivering a diverse mix of classic, cutting edge, and affordable wines. .
